Rows of celosia burn pink, orange and gold along a ridge above Cebu City — a quiet farm the locals call 'Little Amsterdam'. Cool air, cloud shadows, and the sound of the wind moving through the flowers.
Local tip · Go at 6:30 AM before the tour vans arrive. Pair with Temple of Leah on the drive down.
Dalaguete · 2.5 hrs south · os-MEN-ya
The highest point in Cebu, a spine of jagged limestone hills that locals compare to a dragon's back. A gentle 20-minute hike from the trailhead ends in one of the most cinematic sunrises in the Visayas.
Local tip · Sleep in a farmhouse homestay the night before. Bring a light jacket — it drops to 18°C.
Boljoon · Southern coast · bol-HOON
A 1783 coral-stone fortress-church, quietly restored, still smelling of candle wax and sea salt. A UNESCO tentative site that most travelers speed past on the way to Oslob.
Local tip · Combine with the pastel houses of Argao and a slow lunch of torta and sikwate (native chocolate).
